Calculating the financial issues pertaining to a Separation Agreement can be particularly challenging.

There are several important considerations:

Our Ontario legal system requires Form 13 or Form 13.1 to be completed and the determining form is dependent on support claims and property.  These are financial disclosure forms comprising Income, Expenses, Assets, Liabilities, and some other important details.

However, to determine your personal assets and liabilities, both parties need to agree on how they will be divided.  There are a couple of forms used but most common is Form 13B.  This can be challenging.  Values need to be assigned and agreed upon.  Once the parties agree, the net worth must be allocated appropriately and fairly.  Depending on the circumstances this can be quite trying.

All three forms can be found in our Forms page.

Separation is difficult.  Rosenfield Mediation can help.
